ORLAND HILLS– State Senator Michael E. Hastings announced today that the new Orland Hills DMV+ will open to the public on Monday, Nov. 9 at 10 a.m., providing expanded, modernized driver and vehicle services for residents of the south suburbs.
“This new DMV+ is a major step forward for families and small businesses across the 19th Senate District,” said Hastings (D-Frankfort). “It’s designed to cut down on wait times and make essential services faster and more convenient. I’m grateful to Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias for his partnership in bringing this to our area, and to the mayor of Orland Hills for his leadership in making it happen. I also want to thank the mayor of Orland Park and CTF Illinois for their collaboration and support in keeping services available during the transition. Their partnership is a strong example of what government working together looks like.”
A DMV+ is a modernized one-stop-shop facility operated by the Illinois Secretary of State. Unlike traditional locations, it combines driver services and vehicle services at a single counter with cross trained staff, so customers can renew a license, get a REAL ID, register a vehicle, obtain stickers or plates, and handle title work in one visit without bouncing between lines. It also brings specialized services closer to local communities, services that previously required a trip to downtown Chicago or Springfield, including business filings such as articles of incorporation, LLC amendments, trademarks and certified copies, along with index services like apostilles.
The facility is located at 9291 159th Street in Orland Hills. Regular hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
The temporary location at 18230 Orland Parkway will close permanently on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 5 p.m. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and use the new facility beginning Monday.
